8/15/2025: Automatic updates are finally fixed! They run once per hour.

5/3/2025: Automatic updates are broken right now. We’ll run it manually once every day or two for now.

How to Add Shows

  • Check first that your listing hasn’t already been added.
  • Add your show in an empty line below the rest of the list.
  • Shows are automatically transferred to the site once per hour. If after 2 hours you still don’t see an update, please report it to admin@rishows.com!

Date and Start Time

If you’re using a computer (not a phone), Date and Start Time columns format automatically in the spreadsheet – no need to adhere to any particular standard. Just type the date any way you want and hit tab. [feedback requested: how to do this on a phone?]

Venue

Selecting a Venue from the dropdown list is required. If your venue is missing, select “Other” from the list and include the name in the Details field. (You can also request the venue name be added permanently to the list by writing it into the “Notes to the Admin” field.)

Show Title

This is a required field. Nothing special about it, just a text field.

Cost

Cost needs to either be a number or words, not both. because of a bug in the system, if you write something like “$15 PWYC”, it will strip out the word “PWYC” and leave the “$15”. if you write “PWYC” with no numbers it’s fine though. to get around this, put one or the other in the Cost field, and then add more detail into the Details field.

Age

This is for any age-related specifics for attendees, like “21+” or “All Ages”.

Link URL

Put a link to a web page for the show, if there is one.

Image URL

Images need to be uploaded elsewhere first. The system takes the image file URL and imports it. The URL must contain an image file extension like .jpg, .png, or .gif, or it won’t import. You can use an image upload site (e.g. imgbb.com) to add your image if it’s not already on the internet. You might need to right-click on the image and select “Copy Image Link” to get the right URL.

Details

This column is for any other details you’d like to include. Note that the system removes most formatting and line breaks, so it’s generally best to put just plain text here.

Duplicates & “Multiples”

The system matches shows based on Date + Venue to avoid duplicates. If there are two shows at the same venue on the same day, use the “Multiples #” column to add a different number to each one (it doesn’t matter what number, as long as they are different).

Editing Events

You can continue to add details to events after they’ve already been added. Just edit it in the spreadsheet.

Note that if the date or venue changes, the system will treat it as a new separate show, and you’ll see a duplicate on the site that should be removed. If that happens, notify admin@rishows.com.

Removing Events

Write “[CANCELLED]” or something similar in the “Show Title” column, then notify admin@rishows.com for removal.
