Bringing scholars from a variety of disciplinary locations together to discuss and “diagnose” the varied intersections of queerness and contagion, this virtual symposium will consider how pandemics—from HIV/AIDS to COVID-19 and Mpox—have been endured, engaged, and confronted by queer and trans communities and how LGBTQ+ identifications and practices have themselves been troublingly figured as “viral” and “contagious” pandemics. // Free and open to the public.
