Trans Identities have existed across the globe for most of human history, and this film explores the life of a contemporary Mahu community leader in Honolulu who is keeping Hawaiian Traditions alive. Mahu is a term used in Hawaii to describe people who embody both male and female spiritual energy. // This Documentary follows the story of Hina Wong-Kalu, a mahu hula teacher, as she tells her life story, navigates her love life,supports a trans student through their self discovery, and prepares for her hula troops final performance of the year // This event requires registration.
