Celebrate Revive the Roots’ annual festival of music, nature, art & community at the beautiful 23-acre Mowry Commons. So much to discover! Back and better than ever! Rootstock is back for its 6th year, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you to this annual celebration of music, nature, art, and community at the beautiful 23-acre Mowry Commons. What to Expect: Live Music All Day – Bring a blanket or lawn chair and let the sound carry you. Looking forward to musical performances by Bird & Augur, Ike Dee + the 3, Lectra, Justice Cow, and BabyBaby_Explores. Discover even more singer-songwriters on the Fruit Hill Performance Tent, including performances by Breachway and Wicked Queer Puppet Theater! Try something new at the Foundry Iron Pour! Etch or stamp your own custom design into a pressed sand block mold and leave it for our professionals to pour molten liquid scrap iron into to create an iron tile! Pick it up at the end of the day before you leave and take home a metal work of art you will remember forever. ($20) Watch the sunset on the Fruit Hill and dance to a Live DJ set at the Sunset Silent Disco. Each person receives a sanitised wireless audio headset playing the same dance music as everyone else on the hill. Outside of your headphones will be silent, while those with headphones get to jam! Featuring local DJs from 6-7 PM leading up to SHE ATE! A Farm Drag Show. Explore Mowry Commons – Wander the trails, say hi to the chickens, meet the sheep, observe the insects, admire the flora, and join a guided tour of the property trails. Featuring farm tours from Rooted Littles Toddlers + Grownups’ nature walk, Forest Garden Tour, Revive The Roorts Founding Father’s History Tour, and tours from our friends at Queer Hikes. Share Space Talks – Tents placed around the farm will feature 30-minute to 1-hour presentations and/or demonstrations from local experts regarding everyday Environmental Science, Yoga & Movement, Family Enrichment, Eco-Sustainability, and Arts & Entertainment. Art + Creativity – Participate in hands-on crafts such as a communal canvas, wet felting and rock painting from the Artist Exchange, open to kids and adults alike! Discover new sustainable crafts like botanical cyanotypography and reusing grocery tabs to make jewelry. Then stop by the Cob Oven station to Screen Print-Your-Own Revive The Roots merch with JAS Screen Printing. Pick-Your-Own Flower Bouquet – Back by popular demand! Rootstock attendees have the opportunity to pick flowers from our new flower garden and arrange a small custom bouquet. (This activity is pay-what-you-can) Local Food – Enjoy delicious tacos from Tacofied! Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available on the menu. For sweets, discover cookies, rice crispies and more from Knife & Knead. Community Partners – Meet Rhode Island organizations making a difference in climate action, education, and social change! Each table engages through interactive learning opportunities and friendly conversation. Discover a new organization in your neighborhood and see what cool people in our state are doing!
